Ramos Chinese Tablet Maker’s First Smartphone Gets Leaked, Features 2.5D Display Glass, More Goodies

We love it when a firm we’ve heard about associated to other products goes into the biz of smartphones. It’s the case of Ramos, a Chinese tablet maker we’ve seen experimenting with Android, Windows and dual boot devices. Now they’re making a cool handset.

It appears that a series of renders and pictures have leaked on the web, showing us pieces of the handset’s design. We’re dealing with a device covered with 2.5D glass at the back and front. The handset is curved and has a minimal bezel, plus what looks like a dual back camera. The Ramos phone will also bring a metal body (probably just the frame), a 4850 mAh battery and I’m sure we’ll see solid specs on board.

After all, what’s the point in making a curved phone with a 2.5D screen if you’re going to give it 1 GB of RAM and a 720p screen? I’m guessing we’re about to get a 5.2 or 5.5 inch smartphone with a Quad HD or Full HD resolution, 3 GB of RAM and a MediaTek or Snapdragon CPU, plus a 13 MP or more back camera, or maybe a dual 8 MP setup like on the Huawei Honor 6 Plus.

Huawei P8 Max Is Now Certified by the Chinese Agency TENAA

Even if it was officially announced a while ago, it seems that the certification of the Huawei P8 Maxarrives just now from TENAA, thing that means the phone will soon go out for sale in China. As you already know, this one is a big 6.8 inch phablet that packs some amazing specs and a beautiful design.

This phone offers a TFT panel with Full HD resolution, an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 935 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz, 3 GB of RAM memory, a microSD card slot up to 64 GB that uses the SIM 2 slot, a Mali T628 MP4 processor and a 13 megapixel rear camera with OIS, autofocus and dual-LED flash. There’s a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfie enthusiasts.

Among other things brought by the Huawei P8 Max we have 4G LTE connectivity, a 4.360 mAh Li-polymer battery, Android 5.0 Lollipop with the Emotion UI custom interface and a microUSB v2.0 port. Taking in consideration the 6.8 inch screen and the huge battery, we have to accept the fact that the phone will be a bit heavy at 228 grams. Does this phone looks good for you?

Asus ZenWatch 2 will reportedly offer 3 to 4 day battery life, and beyond

Earlier today Asus took the wraps off the ZenWatch 2. Amid improved water/dust resistance, a revamped design, and the addition of a new smaller size was the promise that the device could offer improved battery life as well. Although Asus didn’t initially reveal any further details, reportedly an Asus spokesperson has since clarified the device will offer about double the original’s battery life, which should translate into about 3 to 4 days of battery power.

If that’s not enough juice for you, Asus will also reportedly offer an external battery extender that could add another half day’s charge. The add-on battery is said to plug into the magnetic charging port on the back of the watch. Considering how easy it should be to attach/detach this, it’s possible you could buy multiple of these battery extenders for situations where you need to push your battery for a day or two longer than normal. It is worth noting that the optional battery will only work with the larger version of the watch, and not the more slender model.

One of the biggest weaknesses for wearable devices is battery life, and while devices like the Pebble manage to still get around 5-7 days (or sometimes slightly longer) on a charge, they do so by having less power intensive specs and displays. If Asus can really deliver a powerful smart watch that offers 3-4 day life and can be pushed even into the 5-day territory with an optional b think of the Zenwatch 2attery pack — they may have a winner on their hands.
