Startup Asia Jakarta 2014, our flagship tech conference is just one week away from now. Exciting things are brewing up and it’s our pleasure to introduce to you two of the newest programs: Kickstart Forum and Hiring Day.

Whenever we organize Startup Asia conferences, we always try to look around and see what the tech startup ecosystem truly needs to excel faster. After careful consideration and seeing (and getting feedback) that there are still many young startups in Indonesia that have the ambition to rule the market, we decided to organize two breakout sessions during the conference that could help them in their journey to the top.

Kickstart Forum, which will be held on the first day of Startup Asia Jakarta on November 26, will bring numerous experienced speakers who can share their know-how with entrepreneurs. Among our distinguished speakers are 500 Startups’ Khailee Ng, a serial entrepreneur who will teach startups how to master stage pitching. Tokopedia’s Wiliam Tanuwijaya will also share his knowledge on how he’s able to attract and retain top talent in Indonesia. In the early days he set up booths at universities for recruitment purposes, only for applicants to come to him and ask, “What is Tokopedia?” Fast forward five years, and his experience in growing and managing over 100 employees is invaluable.

Startup Asia Jakarta’s second day will feature Hiring Day. In this session, over 300 university students from major institutions like Binus University, Multimedia Nusantara University, and Bandung Institute of Technology will visit the conference to take a peek into what the tech startup world looks like.

During this day, students will go on a mini tour and listen in to several sessions about startup life. Local entrepreneurs such as BerryBenka’s Jason Lamuda, Ideosource’s Andi Boediman, Kreavi’s Benny Fajarai, and Talenta’s Joshua Kevin will make sure these students are well equipped with knowledge to decide whether they are best off going into startup or corporate life.

Startups and sponsors who are setting up booths at Startup Asia Jakarta can put up “hiring” signs during the conference. Students have been informed to prepare their CVs.
