Xiaomi holding a press event in… San Francisco?!
Xiaomi is doing what?! Does this mean they are finally entering the USA market? Not so fast! Xiaomi has announced a press event will be taking place in San Francisco, come February 12th, but there will be no major announcements made. So then, why is Xiaomi even hosting a press event?
According to Xiaomi PR representatives, the idea here is to allow Americans to get to know the company more. Interesting, right?
“We can also confirm that Xiaomi will not be launching in the U.S. or entering the U.S. market this time, but this is an opportunity to get to know the company and leadership a bit more.”
Opinion: I am guessing this will be some kind of way to build strong relationship with the USA mobile market. After all, you need strong connections before entering such a competitive market like America. Maybe they can even meet with carriers and try to build some relationships.
