Outlook discontinues Facebook and Google chat support
Outlook has sent an email to its users announcing they will no longer be supporting Google chat and Facebook chat. These changes are to take effect within the next couple weeks, so you best find another solution if you are a frequent Google or Facebook chatter.
Microsoft mentions that part of this is due to Google decision to discontinue the chat protocol used by Google Talk. There is no mention of why Facebook support is being dropped, but Microsoft is suggesting that you try out Skype (how convenient!).
Opinion: I was actually among the few who used Outlook’s chat features, which makes this pretty upsetting news. Do any of you share my sentiment?
