You probably know by now that on April 15th Huawei has an event scheduled, where they will unveil the P8 flagship phone. Up until today all we had were leaks and speculations, but today we get some confirmation from Huawei itself.
The product was discussed at the 2015 China IT Leadership Summit, where Yu Chengdong gave an interview. We’re told to expect improved battery life and camera, new materials and high end technology. The P8 runs the latest Android available and uses the latest HiSilicon Kirin processor, probably the 930. Android 5.0 is on board, most likely with Emotion UI 3.0, or maybe an even newer UI.
The official also hinted at a potential upgrade for the Huawei Mate 7, with high end specs. It’s not yet clear if we’ll also get Honor product upgrades anytime soon and it would also be interesting if Huawei revealed what their Android 5.0 timeline is. Anyway, we’ll learn more about the P8 in April, but till then I’m fascinated by the use of ceramic on this product and the potential of a new fingerprint scanner.
