Archos Debuts New Line of Education Tablets and Notebooks With Android, Windows and Chrome OS



Archos has launched a series of new devices, that can be seen as both tablets and notebooks, courtesy of their detachable keyboards. These models come with Android, Chrome OS and Windows and they’re intended for the education segment.



The list includes 9 and 10 inch tablets with detachable keyboards, but there are also 11.6 inch and 14 inch pure notebooks. Archos promises at least 8 hours of battery life, which means the products will last through a school day. There’s also custom software on board and special settings for in school use. The 2 in 1 tablets with 9 or 10 inch screens will arrive in Android and Windows 8.1 Pro versions, each with 2 GB of RAM and 64 GB storage.



The slates pack 2 MP back cameras, 0.3 MP front shooters and the smaller unit is priced at 200 euros before taxes, while the 10 incher should go for 250 euros. The 11.6 inch new gen Chromebook sells for 250 euros and comes with 2 GB of RAM. The biggest piece here is a 14 inch notebook with 4 GB of RAM, a 250 GB HDD and Windows 8.1 Pro. It’s expected to sell for 300 euros. All of these devices will have Intel Quad core CPUs and 2 year warranty.
