We are UGOOS team. This thread about official Linux and dualboot firmware’s for UT3/UM3.
This thread will be update every time as new versions will be released. We are ready to actively cooperate with users and would be grateful if you will help us make the current firmware little better.

Current version of firmware based on Ubuntu 14.10 Utopic Unicorn with XFCE. For user available two variants of firmware. The first variant is Ubuntu+Android - Dualboot, you will get two systems on your device and switch between them by reboot. The second variant is clear Ubuntu – you get Ubuntu as the main and only operating system. It should be noted that regardless of which of the two variants you select, all your data that was on the device before the installation will be destroyed.
List of main preloaded programs:
1. Web-browser - Mozilla Firefox
2. Video player - MPlayer
3. Audio player - gMusicbrowser
4. Word processor - AbiWord
5. Spreadsheet processor - Gnumeric
6. Image viewer - Ristretto
7. Archive manager - File-roller
You will be able to expand the set of installed applications at any time, you can use the Ubuntu Software Center for this.
To reboot in Android you need to use the shortcut on the desktop. Also on the desktop you will see the shortcut to run the program, with which you will be able scale the image to adjust it to fit Your monitor.
For reboot from Android in Linux use button "Switch system". You can find this button in the power menu.

Known issues:
1. Bluetooth is not enable switch on Android.
Notes: Will be fixed in next firmware.
2. Screen scaling parameters reset to default after resting device.
Notes: Will be fixed in next firmware by using new application to scaling
3. Error message receiving in the gMusicbrowser when player switch songs
Solution: Press Ctrl+T and execute command

touch ~/.mplayer/input.conf
This fix will be included in the next firmware.
4. In the Linux when you logout or you device switches to sleep mode you monitor does not resume from sleep.
Temporary solution: press Ctrl+Alt+F6 and them Ctrl+Alt+F7
How to flash packed firmware:
1. Download firmware and unzip it use 7z, winrar, winzip. Inside: Android Tool - tool for reflashing, DriverAssitant - tool to install drivers and firmware image file.
2. If it first time, you need to install drivers use DriverAssitant or manual when connecting device
3. After installing the drivers will run the Android Tool and click on the “Upgrade Firmware”. Click on “Firmware” and specify the path to the firmware file. You need waiting until the program downloading information about the firmware, then it will display some information on the screen.
4. Next step, you need connect device to your PC. If your device is Ugoos UM-3, then follow these steps:
a) To turn off the device
b) Hold down the hardware reset button.
c) To connect the device to computer via USB cable, the device should use the OTG port.
Else (for Ugoos UT-3) you need to perform the following steps:
a) To turn off the device.
b) To connect the device to computer via USB cable, the device should use the OTG port.
c) Hold down the hardware reset button.
d) Turn on the power.
5. Click the Upgrade button to the firmware of the device. At the end you will see a sign indicating a successful operation.

Will be implemented in the next version:
1. Will be changed base programs package and reduced the size of the system
2. Added support for flash in web-browser
3. Added the program with GUI to change parameters screen stretching.
4. Fix bug with Bluetooth on Android.
5. Fix bug with error message in the gMusicbrowser when song switch on the next.
6. Hidden Android system partitions from Ubuntu.
Full list changes will be available with new firmware version. New firmware will be available in the near future.
