PlayStation Vue launches in the USA
PlayStation Vue has been going through its testing period for some time in the USA, but only in a few cities, where testers have been able to give the streaming TV service a go. This testing period ends today, though. Well, not completely, but it’s now available to much more people.
The service is launching in New York, Chicago and Philadelphia, the same cities where the testing took place. Customers residing in these cities can now pay for PlayStation Vue, which starts at $50 per month. The next plan costs $60, offering regional sports networks and additional movie channels. Now, if you really want to go all out you can opt for the $70 Elite program, which includes 25 “lifestyle, music and family channels”.
Opinion: With Sling TV and Apple’s rumored internet TV service around, Sony is not walking into an empty room here. Competition is growing strong, but we do believe Sony has a good chance at making it here. They have sold nearly 20 million PS4 consoles, and many millions more already have a PS3.
