Amazon shuts down TestDrive
Today we have pretty bad news for those of you who are fans of Amazon’s TestDrive. This service allows users to… well, test drive applications. This service would allow users to run applications in an Android cloud emulator.
Amazon states the decision was based on the fact that usage has been declining. They also claim that the popularity of free-to-play games and applications played a big part in this choice. The featured was actually killed a couple days ago, after which any app with the feature would no longer be able to take advantage of it.
Opinion: I am actually quite sad to hear about this, as it was one of the features that really put the Amazon App Store apart from the competition. Did any of you guys use it, or am I the only one?
