Apple Watch tattoo issues officially addressed
The Apple Watch wasn’t released without a few issues, but one of them may affect people’s experiences for life. Reports of the Apple Watch not working with people with wrist tattoos started emerging.
It seems tattoos get in the way of detecting your wrist and calculating your heartbeat. Apple has now officially addressed the issue. And though they don’t mention a solution coming, at least we know they have it in mind.
“Permanent or temporary changes to your skin, such as some tattoos, can also impact heart rate sensor performance. The ink, pattern, and saturation of some tattoos can block light from the sensor, making it difficult to get reliable readings.”
Opinion: There are definitely solutions for this. Maybe those with tattoos will simply have to wait for the next iteration of the Apple Watch to get all the features… hopefully.
