Xiaomi, the world’s 3rd largest smartphone distributor, released an array of exciting new products

At a grand press conference held in the China national conference center in Beijing yesterday, Xiaomi, the world’s 3rd largest smartphone distributor, released an array of exciting new products,  including the highly anticipated Xiaomi Note smartphones, a cost-efficient Hi-Fi headphone, as well as the smallest TV box in the world.

According to Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Note has two versions. The Lite version features a 5.7-inch Full HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor and 3GB RAM, while the Pro version features a 5.7-inch Quad HD display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor and 4GB RAM.

Both the Lite and the Pro versions are measured at only 6.95mm thick. The front and rear side of these handsets are both covered by toughened glass. They both support dual 4G LTE networks (TDD and FDD), and feature a 4MP ultra-pixel front-facing camera as well as a 13MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization. The ESS audio chip in them is able to deliver Hi-Fi sound effect, and the 4.4V, 3000mAh Li-Po battery could keep the phones working through a whole day even with heavy use.

The Lite version, which is priced at RMB2,299 ($371), will be on sale later this month. The Pro version, which features a metal rim around its edges, is priced at RMB3,299 ($533) and is expected to go on sale in March.

Xiaomi also released their first ever Hi-Fi headphone, which is mainly targeting younger users. Xiaomi claims that their new Hi-Fi headphone has better cost-efficiency than those from the major brands such as AKG and Monster. This headphone will be priced at RMB499 (81) when it hit the market.

The TV box released at the conference only measures at 46.8×46.8x38mm, and is currently the smallest in the world. It features a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, Mali-450 GPU, 1GB DDR3 RAM, and 4GB eMMC Flash storage. It has Bluetooth 4.0, 2.4GHz/5GHz dual-band Wi-Fi on board, and is able to decode H.265 and other major formats of videos up to 1080P. 

Both the headphone and the new TV box will be on sale very soon.
