Acer launching new Chromebase this Spring
Chromebooks are awesome – they are affordable, fast, simple and convenient. It could be the best computer for certain users, but does Chrome OS have what it takes to take over other markets? We have seen some companies experimenting with different form factors, and now Acer is jumping in with a new Chromebase.
They are keeping very quiet about this upcoming computer, but what makes it special is that it has a 21.5-inch 1080p touch screen. They are also letting us know it will come with an NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor, two speakers, HDMI out, USB 3.0 & 2.0 ports, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0.
Opinion: I still think Chrome OS doesn’t have what it takes to take over your desktop. This may be good for libraries and schools, though. It will all depend on the price.
